About
Manav Dæhi is a filmmaker based in Delhi and Mumbai, India, working as a director, cinematographer and editor.
He has been making films since 2020. After spending a year in the MFA program at Emerson College in Boston, where he also worked with Emerson Productions for a year, he left to pursue filmmaking independently. His work is driven by a desire to question existing social conventions and imagine alternative ways of living and seeing the world.
Manav is particularly interested in characters who find themselves on journeys—physical, emotional or existential—and in using cinema to examine the systems and ideas that surround them. He also enjoys experimenting with form and process, treating each film as an opportunity to find a different way of telling a story.
He is currently working on a hybrid documentary exploring arranged marriage in India. His work spans narrative, documentary, music videos, and stills.
